Fill your Christmas stockings with Penrith Pride
‘Tis the season of giving, so get ready to stuff the Christmas stockings full of Penrith pride this year. Buy your gifts from local businesses and you’ll not only be bringing joy to those you love, but to the local staff, owners, and suppliers too.
When you pull together your festive gift list it can be overwhelming, so we’re going to help you with some wonderful ideas to make your purchasing decisions a little easier.
For the enviro-conscious
For both a locally made and sustainable gift option, check out Clover Fields. The 100 percent Australian manufactured body care products are made right here in Penrith. Owner Liz and her innovative daughter Geneva are focused on reducing waste and making products that are kinder to the environment.
“Our main product now is a solid shampoo and conditioner bar which saves 6 plastic bottles per bar and took over 2 years in research and development to get it right. The brand ‘SWAP - Shampoo With A Purpose’ is the leading market brand in shampoo bars in Australia” said Geneva.
Penrith local Chantel is also passionate about reducing waste, inspiring her to open The Source Bulk Foods in Glenmore Park. The franchise is the first in the Penrith region, and Chantel stocks a host of food items from delicious treats right through to pantry staples as well as reusable items such as coffee cups and drink bottles.
“Our products are not sold in single use plastic, so this has a big impact on the local environment … It's all about education and if we all make small changes to our shopping habits, they will add up to make a big difference,” said Chantel.
For someone who needs to unwind
Penrith online business Kerry Ann’s Infinite Creations makes and sells candles, room sprays, body scrubs and more designed to help you relax and de-stress.
The products are handmade by Kerry Ann herself, having started the business in March 2020 when the pandemic prompted her to take it beyond a personal hobby; “I love what I do for work; its where my creativity is at its finest” said Kerry Ann.
For the hard to buy for
Looking for a gift for someone who seems to have everything? How about a hamper! There are several businesses in our area that put together incredible hampers stacked with wonderful local and Australian-made products.
BIGBADBOX is a family-owned small business who personalises and hand-delivers (contactless, of course!) each and every order for their customers. Amy, owner of BIGBADBOX says “We've tried to include All Australian & Locally Sourced Products, Goods & Services in our Big, Bad Boxes. We truly are #PenrithProud & are absolutely LOVING the Community Support we've received thus far!”
The Gifting Emporium is another Penrith Proud hamper business, so whether they like beer or bickies, cocktails or coffee, that impossible-to-buy for person just got easier. You’re welcome!
We’ve barely scratched the surface of the wonderful gift options you can find in Penrith. Check out the Penrith Proud business directory to find more great gift ideas that you can source from our local small businesses.
